A new Day to embrace. Here in south Louisiana we still have time to plant bulbs for spring blooms and don't forget to keep those pansies, petunias and snapdragons watered.
Well, temperatures are finally dropping and fall is the best time to spruce up around the property your listing. This is the time to plant trees and shrubs, it's cool enough outside to repair that rickety fence -- and shop for new patio furniture! What you DON'T want to do in the yard is cut back azaleas or other spring blooming bushes. The blooms develop on the previous year's growth. Spend time with your sellers and call Sold by the Yard to get the property updated to sell faster and for more money
Your AC is doing double time in this heat wave. Remember, though, that it's important to have the house cool if you're trying to sell but we all know controlling the temperature when no one is home is an absolute must. Look into the "smart" thermostats that allow you to control the temperature from your phone so if a showing comes up and you aren't at the house, you can get things cooled off before the tour.
I developed my love for outdoors growing up very close to both of my grandmothers who had the greenest thumbs I've ever known. From loving plants evolved my wanting a comfortable outdoor space where I could sit to enjoy them. So a great big thank you to MawMaw and Mammy, my inspirations for what I do.
